Plants
There is no better place to learn about New Zealand's native plants, than Otari-Wilton's Bush because hundreds of the species in the collections area are clearly grouped and labelled. Also, in 2006, all the significant trees beside Otari's three most popular tracks (the Circular Walkway, the Nature Trail and Wilton's Walkway) were labelled. Now, both your brain and body can benefit from a stroll through the beautiful, lush interior of the reserve.
The Nature Trail, detailed under Attractions, offers an excellent self-guided introduction to New Zealand plants and their ecology. Just pick up the Nature Trail pamphlet on your way into the reserve.
You can learn even more by joining one of the many guided tours or enrolling in a plant identification workshop offered by the . Check Events for more details on the current month's programme.
