Track design and maintenance

We've been building and maintaining multiple-use tracks since the early 1990s and have developed Track Prescription reports for the Department of Conservation and local councils.

Recreation policy consulting

We have been employed to help develop sustainable mountain bike policies for councils in Wellington (regional and city councils), Auckland and Brisbane.

Forest Restoration

From the mid-1990s we have organised forest restoration projects at Otari-Wilton's Bush, Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park, Hataitai velodrome, Tinakori Hill/Rangiohua and Project Rameka - a reforestation, recreation and carbon sink project.

We are qualified in botanical ecology and also have experience in restoration monitoring and pest control.

Events

Karapoti Classic

Paul started this race in 1986 when it was the first national mountain bike race. He called it the National Off Road Bicycle Championships and 48 people turned up. Now it attracts more than 1000 riders. We sold the event in 2005 and now enjoy just racing in it.

In 2010 we re-ran the original course. See those results.

For other Karapoti results see the Karapoti web site.

2006 World Champs

We helped organise the 2006 XC World Mountain Bike Champs in Rotorua.

Wellington World Cup '97

Organised in conjunction with Sports Impact Limited - this was a mission. We pulled in world and Olympic champions to race on Mt Victoria. It was a raging success.

Other Events

Over the years we've organised a forgotten number of events. It helps not to remember too much detail about event organisation because some of it was hell (or was it?). We're cutting back on event organising to concentrate on just the events we love doing.

Web services

Paul has been building web sites since 1995, mostly for government agencies. From 2000 to 2007 he work for New Zealand Police on all their public facing web projects. His chief advantages are a breadth of skills and experience.

He manages several "hobby" sites:
