Note: this first "Karapoti" started at the Akatarawa Road summit and joined the present course at the top of the Rock Garden - hence the fast-looking times.

The 1987 course started at the western end of the Maungakotukutuku Road and joined the "Cassic" route at the southern end of Big Ring Boulevard. Then in 1988 we settled on the current route.
