The Kennett Bros: About Us

Who are we?: The Kennett Bros consists of three brothers; Paul, Simon and Jonathan. We've been working together since 1993 when we wrote, illustrated, designed, laid-out, proofed, published, marketed and distributed the second edition of our best selling guidebook Classic New Zealand Mountain Bike Rides. We had so much fun producing the book that we decided to form a business partnership. We'd collaborated on a number of easier projects going all the way back to 1985.
What do we do?: We've developed a number of products and services based around our two main passions; publishing and cycling. We also have a strong focus on environmental issues.
Services: We design and build mountain biking and walking tracks: Makara Peak, Maidstone Park, Hutt River Trail, Trelissick Park.

Products: We produce a range of quality guide books. Our best seller is Classic New Zealand Mountain Bike Rides, which has sold more than 35,000 copies in six editions since 1991.
Events: We are helping organise the 2006 XC World Mountain Bike Champs in Rotorua.; From 1986 to 2005 we organised the Karapoti Classic mountain bike race, near Upper Hutt.; In 1997 we organised the Grundig/UCI World Mountain Bike Cup in Wellington.; We helped run the nationwide kids' Bikewise MTB Jams for three years; and created the Makara Peak Rally as a fundraiser for the Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park.
